THE COINTREAU POOLSIDE SOIREES
AT THE BEVERLY HILLS HOTEL
July 11, 2012 - Cointreau's global ambassador Dita Von Teese
launched the Cointreau poolside soiree series at the Beverly Hills Hotel, in
celebration of the hotel's 100 year anniversary, with a brand new
burlesque performance. For the new show, Dita drew inspiration from
Betty Grable and Carmen Miranda to create a tropical feeling show which
compliments the ideal summer cocktail, the Margarita, and her twist on
it, the "Margadita". For the costume, Von
Teese collaborated with uk designer Jenny Packham and added jewelry by
Michael Schmidt, shoes by Christian Louboutin, and elaborate feather
fans made by Catherine D'Lish, all embellished with Swarovski crystals.
The launch event also featured a performance by the synchronized
swimming sensations the Aqualillies. The poolside series will continue
during the summer, and marks the first time that the historic property
has opened their poolside and cabanas to the public.
Dita launches "My Cointreau Travel Essentials" in a series of events across Europe in
Amsterdam (4th Oct 2011), Madrid (6th Oct 2011) and Milan (11th Oct 2011). Watch the making

DITA CREATES HER SECOND SIGNATURE COCKTAIL
WITH COINTREAU... INTRODUCING THE "MARGADITA",
A GLAMOROUS REINVENTION OF THE CLASSIC MARGARITA!
The Cointreau MargaDita
1 oz Cointreau
1 oz Silver Tequila
1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
Bar spoon (0.5 oz) of Monin Rose Syrup
1 pinch Chipotle Spice
Mix all ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
Shake vigorously and pour into a chilled coup glass.
Garnish with floating organic yellow rose petals. For an added kick, add
a pinch of Chipotle and salt rim. (Note: No Chipotle spice on the rim)

This event took place in July 2009 and was the
world debut of Dita's "Opium Den" show. The event also featured
Dita's "Be Cointreauversial" performance and the
Los Angeles premiere of her signature cocktail the

DITA VON TEESE, THE NEW MUSE OF THE COINTREAU BRAND,
UNVEILED HER NEW SHOW 'BE COINTREAUVERSIAL'
AND THE 'COINTREAU TEESE' COCKTAIL.
Dita Von Teese and Cointreau, the famous orange liqueur, are
delighted to officially announce their partnership. The
partnership will last for two years and create a rich
variety of ideas, including a Dita Von Teese cocktail and a
new Burlesque show.
The first 'Dita Von Teese for Cointreau'
event took place in December 2007 in London, followed by the US debut in New
York in April 2008, Tokyo in August 2009, and Sao Paulo in October 2009.
The live show is an evocation of the Cointreau world, a
world that Dita Von Teese has herself discovered and which
has completely won her over. Cointreau and its unique
'French touch' has thrived for more than 160 years without
changing anything, from the shape of its legendary bottle to
its delicate and instantly recognisable flavours. It was
only natural that this iconic bottle should join the
glamorous world of Dita Von Teese and her carefully crafted
character, a blend of retro and modernity, that little je ne
sais quoi, a freedom of thought that extends far beyond any
diktats one might apply.

Featuring a Cointreau-inspired cocktail glass that stands
over five feet tall, the 'Be Cointreauversial' performance
showcases Dita in a brand new orange-hued costume adorned in
hundreds of thousands of Swarovski crystals, complete with a
one of a kind, nine foot feather boa complete with jewel-encrusted
tassels, and custom-made Christian Louboutin
stilettos. The 'Be Cointreauversial' show will be touring in
2008 and 2009. Stay tuned to Dita's calendar to find out when it
will be in a city near you!!
Following the debut of the performance, guests were invited
to taste the Cointreau Teese
cocktail, developed by Dita and special mixologists in Paris.
Dita adores the violet, that falsely shy and deliciously quaint
flower, with its powdery scent and divine colour so evocative of
the nostalgic Paris of which Arletty sung, a light tune with
delicately perfumed notes.
So when Cointreau asked
Dita Von Teese to create her own cocktail, it was clear
that the violet would be not just a key ingredient, but the
very heart and soul of this cocktail.
That little extra touch of soul that triggers a unique sensation when blended with
Cointreau's orange notes, an endlessly
surprising dance of startling aromas.
This "flower-cocktail" is given extra zing by the delicate
touch of fresh ginger on the rim of the glass, a flamboyant
touch that Dita insisted upon! Clearly there was only one
name for such a cocktail: The Cointreau
Teese, in homage to its creator.
