Guests will embark on a tactile journey as Cointreau showcases its influence on classic and modern cocktail culture and guides visitors on an unforgettable voyage through a series of elaborately-designed rooms filled with celebration and surprises at every turn.  Unveiling in New York (October 15-17), and traveling to Dallas (October 22-23), Los Angeles (November 5, 7, 8) and San Francisco (November 13-15), La Maison Cointreau will allure and captivate from start to finish, entertaining all of the senses.

“As a sixth generation member of the Cointreau family, I am delighted to be a part of this truly unique experience and share the story of my family and its legacy with guests,” said Alfred Cointreau. “La Maison Cointreau is an exploration of the rich tradition of this brand, offering a rare opportunity to discover the legendary history of Cointreau. Through this experience, I hope that visitors are both educated and entertained, and that they will walk away with a new understanding of the art of cocktail making.”

La Maison Cointreau will debut in New York City on October 15th at 632 on Hudson for an exclusive event. Located in Greenwich Village, the 5,000-square-foot nineteenth-century townhouse boasts three floors of exploration. Visitors will have the opportunity to move freely through the space, experiencing each room as a unique journey, while being treated to a special performance by Cointreau Ambassador and International Queen of Burlesque Dita Von Teese as well as French singer/accordionist, Nicole Renaud. La Maison will be open for all to explore on Tuesday, October 16th, and Wednesday, October 17th from 6:00pm to 10:00pm.

Upon arrival to La Maison Cointreau, guests will be guided through a labyrinth of experiences, beginning with a meticulously curated library of libations where Alfred Cointreau will highlight Cointreau's rich history, its beginnings in Angers, France in 1849 and its inclusion in some of the very first cocktail recipes ever created. Guests will have the opportunity to peruse a sampling of one of the largest collections of rare first-edition and historic cocktail books dating from the mid-1800's including notable titles like Art of Mixing Drink by Jerry Thomas from 1862 and Histoire Du Vieux Grognard from 1897. Not only are the hard copies available to view, but all of the books will be available at the touch of a finger. Every page of this vast collection of over 200 rare and prized cocktails books has been digitized, and all titles searchable. This is the first collection of its kind to be made available for viewing in this capacity.

Following the library, enticed imbibers will be guided through a Cocktail Lab, reminiscent of the apothecary of yesteryear, where they will taste classic and contemporary Cointreau cocktails, followed by a hands-on cocktail making class with Cointreau's Master Mixologist, Kyle Ford. Here, guests can try their own skills at making classic cocktails from the 1800’s, or improvise to create a new cocktail yet undiscovered. At the magic hour, the Mistress of Ceremonies will lead the way into the last stop of the tour, a French boudoir-inspired ballroom echoing with Parisian chansons. With a myriad of extraordinary and unique performances, guests will end their night of exploration by dancing to beats by DJ JonJon Battles and toast to an unforgettable evening, courtesy of Cointreau.

La Maison Cointreau will replicate the experience in four unique locations nationwide, stopping in New York, Dallas, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Dita Von Teese will perform in New York and San Francisco, along with Nicole Renaud, who will be performing in each city. Renowned DJ’s and entertainers will join Renaud to continue the extravaganza.

About Cointreau

Created more than 160 years ago in Angers, France, Cointreau is one of the world’s most famous crystal clear spirits. Cointreau’s distinctive square‐shaped bottle, with rounded shoulders and warm amber color, is recognized worldwide, as well as its subtle taste – a perfect balance of bitter and sweet orange peels grown and meticulously selected for their quality. Cointreau is best known as being a key ingredient in the most popular cocktail in the US; the margarita. In 1948, socialite Margarita Sames combined Cointreau, Tequila and lime to create the original margarita. In addition, Cointreau is an essential ingredient in the Cosmopolitan and other top shelf cocktails, such as the Sidecar and the White Lady. Its versatility, defined by its capacity to combine the richness of its flavors and aroma, makes it a perfect choice neat or on the rocks.

Today, more than 15 million Cointreau bottles are sold worldwide and Cointreau remains the authentic choice of many top bartenders in the smartest and most fashionable bars. The average retail price for a 750mL (25.4 oz.) bottle of Cointreau is $36. Cointreau is distributed by Rémy Cointreau, USA Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Rémy Cointreau in France.
